Beneath his shirt he was covered in illustrations from his neck to his belt line. I cannot say how long I stared for he was a riot of rivers and fountains and people, in such intricate detail and colour that you could hear the voices murmuring from the crowds that inhabited his body. He said his illustrations could predict the future. He warned me not to look. But then the first illustration quivered and came to life."
