Tendering

Tendering / Ian Wedde - 1988 , NZ-AKL - Auckland University Press 1988

The word 'tender' is wonderfully supple. It describes vulnerability and also protective feelings—tenderness. Tender is what we do when we bid for the possession of something. We tend what we care for; we also incline, and we attend. A ship tended swings to the weather tide on an anchor; a ship is attended by a tender filled with provisions or fuel.
